Factory eight-track player?
Why did I compare this to the SC430? Because like the Lexus finally phasing out cassette players in 2010, Chrysler held on to the eight-track player long after it's heyday when people have moved on to the next media.
Eight-track tapes were phased out of stores by late 1982, and all the olds* weren't done with them yet.

Notice that they didn't even list the tape player. They probably have never seen one before, and didn't know what it was.
*Disclaimer - 1980s new Chrysler customers, like 2010 Lexus customers, are not young. They have not embraced the newest audio technology, and have a collection of older media they still want to enjoy. Money talks, and they have the money.
I love you but I've chosen hooning!

I know how the pitch for this interior went down:
"Gentlemen, what's classier than a French whorehouse?"

my 08 TL has a tape deck. I kind of want to start a cassette collection just because and haul them around in those giant tape cases just because I can

Honey, we've been in Canada for five minutes now, it's time to flip the switch.
Need to know how many kay-emms we have left in the tank.

I think they wanted to cover everything. It's got AM/FM/XM radio, Aux input, 6-disc CD player and a tape deck in the dash, and also an audio DVD player in the trunk. All from the factory too; it's pretty insane.

All you're missing is the 8-track and a record player.

It's funny how car manufacturers are always behind.
aux-in: this is definitely a premium feature guys, better put in a tape deck instead
usb-in: we can't possible add these incredibly cheap connectors to our systems that are perfectly capable of dealing with it.
bluetooth audio: only on our most expensive model and we may or may not enable the bluetooth audio, we'll probably just start with phone-only
auto makers are like: responsive touch screens, wtf is that?
